It´s Prime time on Talbot´s new mask

New York Rangers

It´s Prime time for sure on the New York Rangers goalie Cameron Talbot´s new mask. When Cam told me what he wanted on his new mask I was totally thrilled, my kids and I love the Transformers movies, and we often play with our Transformer toys... :)

The whole mask is painted as a classic Rangers mask with the logos, painted as the mask is made of metal. But then the action starts...Mr Prime is breaking through the metal mask with New York in the background, the metal is bent open all over the mask...showing some robotic powers.

It was with a big smile I painted this mask, I just love to go crazy on details to be discovered all over the mask. :)

Check it out in the mask gallery and in the DAVEART App. Thank you for your interest.

Mayer´s mask tells his story

Montreal Canadiens

Today we have the pleasure to welcome the Montreal Canadiens goalie Robert Mayer to our team and to present his new artwork.

Robert wanted something totally new on his mask and he wanted to tell the origin of him and his family. I love to tell a story on a mask. Robert was born in the Czech Republic, then he grew up in Switzerland. On the left side of the mask there´s a tribute to the Czech Republic with a theme of mountains and a flag, and on the right side there´s a tribute to Switzerland.

Around this I created a crisp and clean Habs design in old school feeling with so many details and hidden effects that continues telling the story of Robert.

Welcome to check out Robert Mayer´s Canadiens mask in the mask gallery and on Facebook. Thank you for your interest.

Watch out for Dex with a civil war sword

Columbus Blue Jackets

Watch out for Dex again, he is back on a new mask, and now he also has a civil war sword...! It´s so fun to be the Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Mark Dekanich´s painter. It´s always with a big smile I paint his designs with Dex, his nickname and character that always appears on Mark´s masks. Check out all Mark´s Dex masks in the gallery.

This mask is painted for the 3rd jersey, with focus on the cool cannon logo. Then the whole mask goes crazy and is cracked open and out jumps a mad Dex. As you can see, I love to paint a lot of details. :)

Welcome to check out Mark Dekanich´s Columbus mask in the mask gallery or in the DAVEART App. Thank you. :)

Defender of the Crown is the name of Zatkoff´s Kings mask

Los Angeles Kings

When I was a kid and played video games with my Commodore 64 one of my favorite games was Defender of the Crown... :) That is a perfect name and fits this artwork like a glove. I have painted for the Los Angeles Kings keeper Jeff Zatkoff for a couple of years now, and I love to paint for him, he knows what he wants and he always has so cool ideas.

This design is inspired from a crown of a King and a helmet of a Knight. The LA Kings Crown logo and the customized Kings logo with Jeff´s number are waved around the mask just as a King´s Crown. Around that a symphony of details in the name of Los Angeles Kings. Strong contrasts give a cool look to the design from a distance, and as you come closer new design is created in front of your eyes.

Just as usual a lot of detail work, love to do that. :) Look at the white base, you may think it is white at the first look, but when you come closer it evolves to an old school castle brick wall. Love to paint for you Jeff!

You´re all welcome to check out Jeff Zatkoff´s LA Kings mask in the mask gallery, on Facebook and in the App. Thank you for your interest.

Flying feathers on Tarkki´s Ducks mask

Anaheim Ducks

I want to welcome the Anaheim Ducks goalie Iiro Tarkki as a new member into our team. It was so fun to paint this one for Iiro and I love to paint the Ducks mask logo, it is one of my favorites.

Iiro wanted a graphic and clean team design, with the logos as the base, but not only that of course... :) But also a lot of details and 3-D effects, just what I love to do. I put together a design concept for Iiro and he liked my ideas and sketches. The whole design is built on the team logos, very visible from a distance, and when you come closer a new dimension opens up and a new design is created in front of your eyes. Lots of metallic effects and DAVEART Holographix FX.

And as a funny detail, a cool connection to Iiro´s goalie buddy Jeff Deslauriers´ Ducks mask is the small duck feathers flying all over the mask, just as on Jeff´s mask... They for sure play hard hockey in Ducks, making the feathers fly everywhere.

Welcome to check out Iiro Tarkki´s Anaheim Ducks mask in the mask gallery. Thank you.

Music heroes on Beskorowany´s new mask

Dallas Stars

I am very happy to present the Dallas Stars goalie Tyler Beskorowany´s new mask. When Tyler told me what he wanted on his new mask I was totally thrilled. He wanted a tribute design for his two musician heroes, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. I couldn´t wait to get started.

Tyler had some awesome ideas about the design, he especially wanted a kind of green falling star as a part of the design. And Tyler´s equipment manager Brian is also a brilliant artist and he showed me some of his awesome drawings. I created and sketched a design plan and I got green light to get started. It was so incredible fun to paint this design.

One side is dedicated to Cash, and the other side to Nelson. I wanted it to be a worthy and clean design, in the same style as the awesome music of the artists. I love to change style in paint, depending on the theme and what feeling I want to bring into the design.

Just as usual the design is packed with extreme detail work to be discovered all over the design, many of them created with metallic and only visible when seen live.

Check out the mask in the mask gallery, on Facebook or in the DAVEART App! Thank you for you interest.
