Just as usual it is built brick by brick. Me and Sergei have worked together for many years and have evolved his mask art from mask to mask. I am so happy to be your artist Sergei!

The classic goalie theme of a brickwall all over the mask always delivers, in total symbiosis with the Columbus Blue Jackets colors and graphics 💫

It´s always such a pleasure to create the new #NHL artworks for Sergei and it´s so awesome to be your personal artist, thanks Sergei! Much more to come! :-)

This new design is a continuation of Sergei´s previous #Columbus designs, but this one created in a new style.. It tells the story of Sergei´s new home country, and his origin. During summer we brainstormed different design ideas, and this idea crystallized in our minds. We setup the plan and I started to create.

The design is built on the awesome logos of the #BlueJackets, in total harmony with the Blue Jackets uniforms. One side is a tribute to the team and Sergei´s new home country, and the other side is a tribute to Mother Russia. To wake up from a nightmare... The Twilight Zone continues…

Columbus Blue Jackets

Steve Mason's latest mask is a direct continuation of his past Twilight Zone masks. In these designs we want to recreate the feeling you have when you wake up from a really bad nightmare…

This design continues in the same nasty style as Steve's latest designs, and here we dig even deeper in the unpleasant details to create a true horror mask.

On a distance it's a scary and stitched skull mask… and when you come closer you aren't sure what you're seeing, we just wanted to create a scary feeling. You will discover so much details all over the mask that tells a story of horror, you will find insects, morbid faces, skulls, a shark attack, dripping blood and so much more… and the shark attack continues on the backplate… And check out the skulls, they are a tribute to Steve's favorite TV show…

I just love to paint in different styles from day to day.

The design is pumped with all the Super FX, just what I love to do. It is so creative to be your painter Steve!

You are welcome to check out the mask in the mask gallery, in the App or on our Facebook page.

Thank you all.

Bobrovsky's vintage version

Columbus Blue Jackets

Bobrovsky's vintage version, yes that is the name of Bob's latest mask artwork I created for the alternate Blue Jackets uniform and logos.

As you can see it's a continuation of his previous Blue Jackets mask with the extremely strong brickwall painted all over the mask, that is Bob's trademark on his latest masks. And look close, there is no cracks in the bricks what so ever, just a super strong wall.

Every detail in the design tells a story, just check out the flags, the russian flag is on the left side, closest to the heart.

The design is pimped with so much details to be discovered all over the mask. And you will find all kind of Super FX here, 3D PaintTech, Holographix FX, Metallic FX, GhostSmoke and so much more.... :-)

Love to be your painter Bobs! :-)

You are welcome to check out the mask in the mask gallery, in the App or on our Facebook page.

Thank you all for your interest in my paint.

Wall of Bobs is the name of Bobrovsky's new artwork

Columbus Blue Jackets

Today we have the pleasure to present the Columbus Blue Jackets keeper Sergei Bobrovsky's latest bucket. The whole design can be summarized in one word; a wall, or more precise, a brick wall. :-)

Sergei wanted the mask to be created as a very strong and solid brick wall. No cracks in the wall what so ever. I loved the idea, a classic theme for a goalie.

My idea was to transform the whole mask into a brick wall in CBJ colors, and the design is put on the brick wall as old school posters. I built this design concept as both a tribute to his new team, his new homeland and also his motherland. I immediately got green light to start and had so much fun when I created it.

Just as usual it is pumped with details and lots of 3-D effects, a treasure map of details all over the mask, just what I love to do.

Bobs, I love to paint for you!

You're welcome to check out Sergei Bobrovsky's new Columbus mask in the mask gallery! Thank you all for your interest in my paint.

Mason's new scary mask digs even deeper in the horror of war

Columbus Blue Jackets

Today we have the pleasure to present the new mask creation for the Columbus Blue Jackets keeper Steve Mason. I love to come up with new ideas and paint in new styles from day to day.

The design is a continuation of his mask from the previous season, the mask named SkullSoldiers... That was a design to show the horror of war...and here we dig even deeper in the horror of war... I see myself as much a storyteller as a painter. The whole mask is created with very scary feelings, and I did it with very calm, strange and unpleasant motifs, just as you woke up from a nightmare...

The logos are attached to the mask with stitches, just as the skull on the top is stitched... I love to paint a lot of details.

You're all welcome to check out the mask in the mask gallery.

Love to paint for you Steve!

Thank you all!

McElhinney’s new mask is a storyteller-design

Frölunda Indians

At a first glance of Curtis McElhinney’s new Columbus mask it’s a design built on the team logos with crisp and clean colors. Yes it is, but when you take a second look you will find it’s a storyteller-design, and you will discover so much more. The whole design is built on Curtis’ biggest interest, fly fishing.

So welcome to a discovery ride into the fly fishing world. On the sides the base color is created as the skin of a trout, and the blue is also transformed into underwater scenery with special effects. You will also find mayflies built into the design, and some details you can only see when you see it live.

It’s always such a joy to come up with new ideas and try them in new layouts and effects, always think outside the box.

Curtis, I can’t tell you enough how fun it was to create this new mask look.

You’re all welcome to check it out, thank you for your interest.

American Zombies is the name of Mason´s new lid

Columbus Blue Jackets

Today we have the pleasure to present the new mask of the Columbus Blue Jackets keeper Steve Mason. Steve told me he wanted something really, really scary, created in a new way... At that time I was watching a zombie movie when I painted, yes, I always watch movies when I paint... :-)

Zombies are so scary and creepy, so I came up with a very scary design theme with zombies, but in a new style, mixed with American theme and also Blue Jackets colors and graphics. Steve loved my ideas...

To get in the right zombie mode I watched all my favorite zombie movies when I painted. I am also a big fan of the TV serie Walking Dead, I both watch the serie and read the comic. My favorite zombie movies are Dawn of the dead, Shawn of the dead, 28 weeks and 28 months, just to name a few... :-) I always do a lot research before I start any artwork... :-)

I had so fun when I created the design. The design has a clear look from distance, but when you come closer you will discover more and more details and the design transforms in front of your eyes, and becomes a big bad zombie attack!

Check out the mask in the mask gallery, on Facebook or in the DAVEART App. Thank you for your interest.

Watch out for Dex with a civil war sword

Columbus Blue Jackets

Watch out for Dex again, he is back on a new mask, and now he also has a civil war sword...! It´s so fun to be the Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Mark Dekanich´s painter. It´s always with a big smile I paint his designs with Dex, his nickname and character that always appears on Mark´s masks. Check out all Mark´s Dex masks in the gallery.

This mask is painted for the 3rd jersey, with focus on the cool cannon logo. Then the whole mask goes crazy and is cracked open and out jumps a mad Dex. As you can see, I love to paint a lot of details. :)

Welcome to check out Mark Dekanich´s Columbus mask in the mask gallery or in the DAVEART App. Thank you. :)

Watch out, Dex is shooting cannon balls

Columbus Blue Jackets

Watch out folks, Dex is shooting cannon balls with his civil war cannon... He has just lit the match and is ready to shoot again. He has already fired a bunch of cannon balls...check out the other side of the mask, it is cannon ball holes all over...

As you can see I had a lot of fun creating this design for Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Mark Dekanich. I have painted for Mark for many years, and he always wants this dude on his masks... I have created this Dex dude in many different situations on the masks, and now when Mark moved to Columbus I came up with the idea to have Dex play with a civil war cannon...and waving a Blue Jackets flag... Mark loved the idea and I started to paint. As usual I painted it with lots of cool details and metallic glitter, giving sweet action to the design.

Welcome to check Mark Decanich's new Dex mask and more Dex masks that I´ve created in the mask gallery, you also find some of them on our Facebook page.

Skull soldiers on Mason's new mask

Columbus Blue JacketsIt's so fun and creative to be Steve Mason's mask painter. He always wants new stuff and is always open to new ideas. I love to work as a chameleon, to change paint style to whatever suits the design theme.

This time Steve wanted something really scary to show the horror of war. But scary in a new way, not just attacking monsters... I love to think outside the box. I see myself as much a storyteller as a painter. My idea was to create a scary feeling all over the mask and I came up with this calm theme, calm in a scary and disturbing way. Just silent and scary, a new kind.

So on the left side an artwork with the theme of horror of war. Scary civil war skull soldiers give the design it's name ”SkullSoldiers”. As you can see I'm also inspired by horror movies and scary cartoons, and this is also a tribute to that.

The other side is a logo themed design, looks sharp from a distance, and when you come close you discover a new dimension of details. The side is painted like it is stitched, in a scary way. When you come even closer you will see that all areas are painted with dramatic lines to add even more scary and disturbing feelings.

Check out Steve Mason's new Columbus Blue Jackets mask design in the mask gallery or on Facebook, or in the DAVEART App.

Check out Mason’s new Blue Jackets mask

Columbus Blue Jackets
It was so creative and fun to create this NHL mask design for the Columbus Blue Jackets keeper Steve Mason. The design is for the third jersey, and we worked with the alternate colors and logo with the cannon to create a graphic clean design with strong contrasts.

Old school touch with the logo on one side, and an American Civil War theme on the other side with everything from fighting scenes and a soldier with the American flag, to a graphically created oil painting of Abe Lincoln in old fashion style. All weaved together to a different design in Blue Jackets style. Extreme detail work and 3-D effects in one. Thinking outside the box.

Check out the mask in the mask gallery or on our Facebook page. Or in the DAVEART App for iPhone, iPad and Android.
