Herman Liv is a DAVEART HERO goalie

It was an awesome feeling to create a real Liv mask again, a mask for Stefan Liv's son Herman.

Herman´s father Stefan and I worked together for 12 years and I made all his masks since he was a teenager, and now it was time for the next generation Liv to get a custom painted mask. Herman is chosen as the Daveart HERO, because he is such a great brother to his little brother Harry and son to his mom.

Herman wanted a tribute design to his father. I created paintings of Stefan on each side, parts of them made with a brush because that was Stefan´s favorite paint technique, and I also mixed with some airbrush work.

Around it I created an old school HV71 design with lots of details and all the DAVEART Trademark Super FX, among them DAVEART GLOW Tech FX...

PW´s tribute mask ❤️

Today we have the pleasure to present the new HV71 mask artwork for HV71´s new goalie Fredrik ”PW” Pettersson-Wentzel.

When PW told me what he wanted to share on his new mask, I was so moved. PW wanted to send out a tribute to the two goalies Stefan Liv and Ivan Turina.

Stefan Liv was the goalie hero of HV71. Stefan Liv and I were very good friends and I painted all his masks during more than 12 years. Stefan Liv passed away in 2011.

Ivan Turina was the goalie hero in the Swedish soccer team AIK which is also PW´s favorite soccer team. Ivan Turina passed away 2013.

PW and I started to discuss and brainstorm how to create this design into a worthy tribute painting. We came up with a plan and I started to paint.

A clean cut old school design, loaded with details which breath HV71, and one side dedicated Stefan Liv and the other side dedicated to Ivan Turina.❤️

PW´s new number 53 on the chin, inspired from the number of PW´s friend and KHL pro Alex Salak.

PW, it was such an honor to create this piece for you and something I will always keep in my heart. Thank you.

Wesslau´s new HV71 mask

Today the #SHL starts here in Sweden and that we have to celebrate by presenting Gustaf #Wesslau´s new #HV71 mask. It´s always special to paint for my home team ‪#‎HV71‬, were it all started for me as an artist for almost 20 years ago :-)

HV71 makes a new concept this year and include the sponsor into the design, and I created this design with a combo of the HV71 graphics and the sponsor´s graphics. And melted it together to an old school design. As usual it´s loaded with all the #DAVEART trademark effects and extreme detail work all over the design, and a lot of connection to the jersey, and a lot of hidden messages.

You are welcome to check out the mask in the mask gallery or on our Facebook page. You´ll also find a lot of behind the scene photos on our Instagram, and you´re welcome to follow us also on Twitter.

Thank you all for your interest, and thank you Gustaf, love to be your painter! We have worked together for many years and I´m looking forward to many new cool masks :-)

Gunnarsson´s new HV71 mask

Today we have the pleasure to present the new #SHL mask for HV71´s keeper Jonas #Gunnarsson. It´s always special to paint for my home team #HV71, were it all started for me as an artist.

HV71 makes a new concept this year and include the sponsor into the design, and I created this design with a combo of the HV71 graphics and the sponsor´s graphics. And melted together to an old school design. As usual it´s loaded with detail work and special FX all over the design, and a lot of connection to the jersey, and a lot of hidden messages.

You are welcome to check out the mask in the mask gallery or on our Facebook page.

Thank you all for your interest, and thank you Jonas, love to be your painter :-)

A tribute to my friend Stefan Liv

This design I created last winter as a tribute to my friend Stefan Liv. The mask is a gift to Stefan´s family and HV71. The mask is now placed in HV´s locker room.

Stefan was such a great part of DAVEART, and he will always be.

It was both so easy to create this mask, and so difficult, in so many ways. Easy because it´s a tribute to my friend Stefan Liv, but obviously difficult at the same time.

Stefan loved when I painted in so called oil paint tech, when I paint with just a brush, check out his Olympic mask on my site, on that mask I only used a brush. So I wanted to do the same on this mask, here I painted the Team Sweden symbol on the top with a brush. Everything else painted in a very soft airbrush style.

Stefan, you will always be in our hearts.

Gunnarsson transforms into the Giant Vist!

So what is this..? Well, with this mask on HV71´s keeper Jonas Gunnarsson transforms into the Giant Vist Goalie... The Giant Vist is a character in a famous local saga from the Jönköping area, the city of HV71. There is also a famous Giant Vist statue in Husqvarna (where HV71 was founded), made by the fantastic artist Calle Örnemark... He works in wood and makes such awesome art! Google “Jätten Vist” and check it out!

The giant is made of wood with yellow wood hair…the same on the mask. And the giant has made an old school hockey mask in white painted wood as well... And all over the mask you find so many details, for example you can see the reflection of the statue in the eyes!

So how did Jonas and I come up with this idea?! Well, we are both from the same area of Sweden, and the Giant Vist is super famous around here. And in May I was on a school trip with my daughter´s class, and as we passed the statue the idea struck me! The perfect HV71 tribute mask! It cannot be more local than this. :-)

Welcome to check it out in the mask gallery, on Facebook or in the App!

Wesslau´s new HV71 mask

For every day that goes we come closer to the start of the Swedish Elitserien. Today we have the pleasure to present the new mask artwork for HV71´s new goalie Gustaf Wesslau. I have been working with Gustaf for many years and he always likes clean and crisp designs, and that fits perfect with HV71´s logo.

The design is a so called 2 in 1 design, from distance it is an old school looking design, but the closer you come the more details you will discover and the mask enters a new dimension in front of your eyes with all the 3-D effects and much more. And not only that, it is also a tribute to the fantastic art of the Jönköping artist John Bauer, one of my favorite artists, check out his paintings.

You are welcome to check out Gustaf Wesslau´s HV71 mask in the mask gallery, Facebook or in our success App. Thank you for your interest.

Old school style on Larsson's new HV71 mask

We continue to present new masks for the upcoming Elitserie season in Sweden. Today's design is what it's named, old school. Clean and distinct lines creates Daniel Larsson's contrast-rich mask design that breathes HV71 to 100%. The design is stylish, but with many effects and 3-D details to discover if you come close. DAVEART Holographix FX gives a nice depth. To paint for HV71 is special, since it was the first pro team I painted for 15 years ago...

Check out Daniel Larsson's HV71 mask in the mask gallery or on our Facebook page, or in the App of course!

Larsson's new HV71 mask

Daniel Larsson likes clean strong contrasts, so it was just to get started with blue and yellow colors in full action. Strong contrasts and a look inspired by the team uniform make this mask design.

Check out Daniel Larsson's HV71 mask design in the mask gallery and on the DAVEART Facebook page!

Superman in Jönköping

Johannes wanted himself on the mask, and then we came up with the idea to paint him as some kind of superman, flying in his underwear, just like a superman... And so I did!

Around this I weaved HV71 graphics, classic and old school, and flying flags. Strong contrasts, always right. Check out the mask in DAVEART MaskGallery and on Facebook.

Andersson's HV mask with clean look

On the night of the first final game in Sweden we present Andreas Andersson's HV71 mask. I have painted for him since the 90's, and it's always much fun!

Go to DAVEART MaskGallery to check out the clean design totally inspired by HV's team uniform.
