Toronto Maple Leafs

Today we have the pleasure to present the new mask artwork for my friend Jonathan Bernier.⭐️

Jonathan and I have been working together for many years. It is always so excreting to create a new Bernier design.🎨

Just as usual Jonathan´s designs are based on the lion face on the top, a worthy and powerful way to build a design.🎯

The rest of the design is created based on the awesome logos of Toronto Maple Leafs🇨🇦. On this mask we created the design in a bit more vintage way. The closer you come the more details you will discover and the design transforms in front of your eyes.🔎

And for sure you will also find all the DaveArt Trademark Super FX💎 built into the creation, such as Holograms✨, GhostSmoke👻 and more…

Bernier´s latest lion art is here...🍁

Toronto Maple Leafs

Jonathan Bernier and I have been working together for many years and it is always a joyride🎢 to create his mask art, always with a lion in the heart of the design.

The lion in the night sky with sparkling stars gives strength and power to the design, and around it we created a symphony in white and blue of Toronto Maple Leafs artworks 🎼.

Just as usual the design is a treasure map of details to be discovered all over the mask, among them a tribute to the city of Toronto. And just as usual all the DAVEART Trademark Super FX 💎 is here.

I love the challenge of coming up with and create new designs and artworks day in day out, always move forward. Every single artwork we deliver is always 100% unique, created for only one goalie 👊

Toronto Maple Leafs

I am very proud to present James Reimer´s custom created mask for the NHL Winter Classic 2014 game. It was such a joy to create and evolve this #NHL piece.

An old school design, in total sync with the awesome Toronto Maple Leafs Winter Classic uniform. But it is so much more than meets the eye… when you come closer you will discover the total blueprint of the construction of Optimus Reim.

Me and James have been working together for many years. This mask is a direct continuation of his past #OptimusReim masks. Once again you will also find Optimus classic flames, and the Winter Classic logo is on the chin, created in metal style as a logo on a truck grill… :)

Bernier´s Winter Classic mask pays tribute to pond hockey

Toronto Maple Leafs

Today we have the pleasure to present Toronto Maple Leafs keeper Jonathan Bernier´s custom made #NHL mask for the Winter Classic 2014 game.

The design is a tribute to the origin of true hockey, kids playing hockey on a pond. Golden memories from our childhood. When Jonathan told me his wishes for his design I immediately came up with a plan how to create it.

Kids are playing on the pond with their friends and in the goal is a parent, and lots and lots of details in the background creates a nice depth to the design.

It was so exciting to create this piece for you Jonathan! Love to be your personal artist. We have been working together for many years and I am looking forward to create many more masks with you :)

Just as usual the #DAVEART design is fully loaded with extreme detail work and stories to tell. Just as usual in a true #Bernier design it is a lion in the design, here it is holding the #WinterClassic shield.

The rest of the design is created in total sync with #Toronto #MapleLeafs awesome Winter Classic uniform.

But here you not only see the passion of a lion, here you also see the power from the claws!

When you come closer you will discover the passion of a lion built in to the old school Maple Leafs design. Love to create stories into the designs.

Reimer´s new Optimus Reim mask is here

Toronto Maple Leafs

I am very happy to present the new #NHL mask for Toronto Maple Leafs keeper James Reimer. And this is just as his previous mask, something totally different. From a distance it's a clean and classic Leafs design, but this mask is just as the Transformers slogan; More than meets the eye!

I just love to try to evolve and come up with new ideas every day. This idea I came up with when my sons played with their Transformers toys.

#JamesReimer ´s last mask was such a success so we felt we had to do a continuation of that mask, and here it is.

We dig even deeper into the art of #TorontoMapleLeafs. I came up with a design solution that creates an old school Leafs look on a distance. The classic flames is there just as on a certain truck…

And when you come closer the mask transforms completely into something else, it transforms into the blueprint on how Optimus Reim is built.

I just love to create designs that tells a story, and this one does that for sure. Love to be your painter James!

And there is so much more to discover, you will also find the Toronto skyline. The electrical lightnings all over the mask describes the electrical feeling James has when he enters the ice in the arena.

The design is totally loaded with all the #DAVEART trademarks effects, such as 3D PaintTech, GhostSmoke, Metallic FX, NanoDetail PaintTech and much more.

You are welcome to check out the mask in the mask gallery or on our Facebook page. You´ll also find a lot of behind the scene photos on our Instagram, and you´re welcome to follow us also on Twitter.

This new mask is created in a mix of old school style and modern FX, me and Jonathan setup the design during summer. It´s a clean and crisp continuation of Jonathan´s previous designs with the lion giving strength just as usual on top and in focus, and around that the crisp Toronto design is built.

Reimer's new mask is a blueprint

Toronto Maple Leafs

I am very happy to present the Toronto Maple Leafs keeper James Reimer's new mask. And this is something totally different. From a distance it's a clean and classic Leafs design, but this mask is just as the Transformers slogan; More than meets the eye!

First you may see the classic flames on the chin, and that reminds of a special truck… a truck that can transform into something else... And when you come really close the mask will be transformed into the blueprint of Optimus Reim, the instructions how Optimus Reim is built.

And there is so much more to discover, you will also find the Toronto skyline, and for sure there is Optimus Reim watching over the city. The electrical lightning all over the mask is describing the electrical feeling James has when he enters the ice in the arena.

I just love to create designs that tells a story, and this one does that for sure. Love to be your painter James!

Scrivens goes old school

Toronto Maple Leafs

Today we have the pleasure to present Ben Scrivens’ new Maple Leafs mask. It was such a pleasure to create this one. Ben wanted to go total old school and had this awesome idea in mind. The white leaf in the middle and leaf lines around it almost like water rings.

It can´t be more old school than this, I took white and blue colors and just got started.

Ben, I love to paint for you!

You´re all welcome to check it out in the mask gallery on the site, on our Facebook page and in our App.

Optimus Reim is here

Toronto Maple Leafs

I can tell you this, I had fun when I created and painted this one... :-) It is a dream of fun to be the painter of James Reimer of the Toronto Maple Leafs. James had a vision of how we could focus on his nickname Optimus Reim, and do a design around that. I came up with this concept and James immediately gave me green light to start.

The mask made of ice is breaking into pieces as Optimus Reim is driving out as an all blue truck from the side of the mask, and you also see him as an all blue Optimus Reim Transformer... The Toronto logo in metal is fastened with screws onto the ice....! It was also much fun to paint the Optimus Reim logo on the side.

I love to paint details, and here I really went crazy on details, added with maximum action and 3-D effects as well as Metallic FX by DAVEART, and more... :-)

Welcome to check out James Reimer´s new Toronto Maple Leafs mask design in the mask gallery. Thank you.

Owuya´s Toronto mask

Toronto Maple Leafs

Today we have the pleasure to present Mark Owuya´s Toronto Maple Leafs mask. I have been working with Mark for many years and it is always so fun. This mask I made in the middle of the hot summer. It´s kind of a reincarnation from Mark´s previous masks that I created for him when he played with Djurgårdens IF. He was so happy with them with the big bold graphics with the team logos, with lots and lots of white ghost fire effects on the sides. And of course, lots and lots of details to discover all over the mask.

Welcome to check it out in the mask gallery and on Facebook. And in the DAVEART App for iPhone, iPad and Android of course... :-) Thank you for your interest.

The Monster Rocker mask

Toronto Maple Leafs

I have painted for the Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Jonas Gustavsson since he was a kid. It is an honor for me to follow a goalie through his career and evolve the mask designs from year to year.

I remember one of the first masks I painted for a young Jonas when he played in AIK in Sweden, it was a design with badass rats guarding a castle. AIK is called the rats, and they have a castle in the logo. Then later when Jonas played in Färjestad we started to do more monster styled designs, I created an octopus styled monster he used on a couple of masks during his time in Färjestad.

Then when Jonas moved to Toronto I came up with the idea how to mix a leaf with a monster cause of his nickname. Jonas liked my sketches and after that it has been many Monster leaf masks... I´m very proud to paint for Jonas and show it to the fantastic fans of the Maple Leafs.

This design idea I came up with last spring, with the monster leaf super big all over the mask, so Jonas becomes a monster leaf with this on his head...watch out! Jonas also wanted a tribute to the fantastic town of Toronto, so in the background I created the Toronto skyline with the CN Tower. I´ve been in the tower myself to do research... :)

Welcome to check out Jonas Gustavsson´s The Monster Rocker mask in the mask gallery, if you dare... :)

James Reimer's new mask in retro paint style

Toronto Maple Leafs

Today we have the great pleasure to present the Toronto Maple Leafs keeper James Reimer's new mask. It is so incredibly fun to create James' new mask designs. The story telling designs I created for him last year were big successes, my mailbox almost exploded of mails from James' fans. I love to create mask designs telling a story.

In this new design we tested a new style in the paintings, I created them in a retro style with old school oil paint tech, with a brush. I love to always paint with different styles and techniques.

The design is a kind of mix of James' last Toronto masks and his Team Canada mask I created for him for the World Championships. The layout with the leaf on each side creates an old school design just as the Team Canada mask. The theme is the same as on last year's Toronto mask, with paintings from James' childhood. This time painted using just an old school brush, that gives a cool retro feeling to the design.

On one side James as a kid playing hockey home at the pond, and when you look close you discover a new world of details, you see the forest in the background and the house were they are waiting for James and his friends to come inside. And on the other side once again Cherry and McLean with their hockey show painted with old school oil paint tech. James remembers how he watched it when he was a kid.

Around this theme I created an old school Toronto design, and lots and lots of details to discover when you come closer. I love to create designs that transforms into another design when you come closer and a new dimension appears in front of your eyes.

And just as last season Jesus is on the backplate, also painted with old school oil paint tech this time.

Check out James Reimer's Toronto Maple Leafs mask design in the mask gallery now! Or on Facebook or in the App.

Reimer’s mask is a continuation on his previous success mask

Toronto Maple Leafs
I am very proud to be James Reimer’s painter. This design is a continuation on his previous and enormously popular mask with lots of details that I got the honor to create. The design is a celebration of his childhood.

The paintings on the sides are very similar to the ones on the first mask, just some minor changes. On one side you see children playing hockey on a pond, and in the background you see a house with light in the windows, mother and father are waiting for the children to come in from the cold. I love to create paintings with much details that tell a story. This side I created like a motif in a children's book.

The other side is a tribute to James' favorite TV show Hockey Night. I painted Cherry and MacLean in blue tints in a layout on the side with glistening stars around. Around all this I put together a Maple Leafs design with the beautiful maple leaf and graphic lines that tie the whole together, creating a truly unique design. And if you look close, we have also incorporated a small celebration of Reimer’s fantastic fans on one side of the mask.

Check out James Reimer’s Toronto Maple Leafs mask now in the mask gallery and on the DAVEART Facebook page! Or in the DAVEART App for iPhone and Android.

Monster design for Gustavsson in silver tones

Toronto Maple Leafs
Jonas Gustavsson of the Toronto Maple Leafs, aka the Monster, continues with his monster leaf theme from his previous Toronto and Team Sweden masks, a mix of his nickname and a Toronto leaf... These successful designs are always great fun to paint!

I came up with the idea with the monster leaf last summer and Jonas digged the idea right away. Here we have created a more hardcore variant, with silver base and a more violent touch on the details. A design that breathes Toronto to a 100%.

Reimer's design looks back at the childhood

Toronto Maple Leafs
It was very exciting to create Toronto Maple Leaf James Reimer's unique mask design. When James told me what he wanted I was very eager to start. The design is a celebration of his childhood.

On one side you see children playing hockey on a pond, and in the background you see a house with light in the windows, mother and father are waiting for the children to come in from the cold. I love to create paintings with much details that tell a story. This side I created like a motif in a children's book.
