Dex goes Top Gun...

Winnipeg Jets

Dex goes Tom Cruise and Top Gun and transforms himself into a fighter jet pilot when Mark Dekanich moves to the Winnipeg Jets... He have jumped into his fighter jet plane and flies over the St John Ice Caps´s mountains...but watch out! He has dropped a bomb...and check it out, even if the bomb looks kind with the smiley...it is not, look closer...the power switch is turned on!

It is always such a joy to paint for you Mark! And as always Dex shows up on the masks. :-) Just as usual the design is full pumped with details and effects to explore. One important ingredient for Dex on this mask was the Canadian leaves, since it´s his first Canadian pro mask.

Welcome to check out Dekanich´s Jets mask in the mask gallery! Thank you all for your great interest!

FLA Face is Markström´s new lid

Florida Panthers

It is such a joy to create the mask artworks for Florida Panthers´ Jacob Markström. I am so proud to be your painter Jacob. FLA Face is the name of the new mask. The design is a continuation of his past masks and his special mask look that we have evolved together, but this time the whole mask is transformed into the fantastic Panthers logo.

The design is a so called 2 in 1 design, from a distance it is a clear design, and the closer you come the more details you will discover and the design transforms into a new design in front of your eyes.

The design is full pumped with extreme details and metallic effects and holographics FX and 3D effects, just what I love to do. And much more. :-)

Check out Markström´s Florida Panthers mask in the mask gallery, thank you all for your interest!

McKenna´s new Blues mask

St Louis Blues

I am very happy to present my buddy Mike McKenna´s new St Louis Blues mask. Me and Mike have been working together for four years and it is such a joy to work with you Mike. Mike is an extremely creative goalie with so much cool ideas. We did a lot of thinking and brainstorming before we created this mask, read Mike´s own article about the process on ingoalmag.com.

It was extra special for me to create this one because this is Mike´s hometown team. The design is just as before built on race graphics on the top, and then around that we have created a crisp and clean design with the awesome Blues logos. And just as usual I love to create so much details, and the closer you come the more stuff you will discover.

It was exciting to create the Fleur-de-lis on the chin of the mask, it is in the focal point of the St Louis flag, and the stripes in the flag represents the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, and I created it all in St Louis Blues colors. And you will find so much more, for example the Gateway Arch and the St Louis skyline, and also a Clydesdale horse, read more about that in Mike´s article. :-)

Thanks Mike for having me as your painter, it is always a joy to paint for you.

Welcome to check out McKenna´s Blues mask in the mask gallery, on Facebook or in the DAVEART App.

Thank you all for your interest.

Lehner´s new mask is a shock in matte with a new look no matter which angle you look at the mask

Ottawa Senators

Today we have the pleasure to present my buddy Robin Lehner´s new Ottawa mask artwork. Robin wanted something completely different. I love to always create new stuff and always think outside the box. Never stand still, always move forward. Me and Robin talked a lot during the summer about this new look.

We wanted to create an unpleasant dark feeling and a violent look, a look never seen on a mask before... We wanted to create the scary feeling you have after waking up after a nightmare... We came up with a plan with a design that creates a new look no matter which angle you look at the mask, with a matte finish.

Just as usual the whole design is created with extreme detail work, and the closer you come to the mask the more details you will discover and the mask transforms in front of your eyes.

Robin, it is such a pleasure to paint for you!

You´re all welcome to check out SoulHunter in the mask gallery. :-)

Thank you for your interest.

Taylor got a new look

San Jose Sharks

Today we have the pleasure to present the new Sharks mask artwork for Taylor Nelson. Welcome to our team Taylor! :-)

It was such a joy to create this design. I love to always think outside the box and every day come up with new design solutions. Every mask I create is 100% unique.

This designs is all built on the awesome Sharks logos and the whole design is created as a so called 2 in 1 design. From a distance it is a clear old school design with strong contrasts, and the closer you come the more and more details you will discover, and the mask enters a new dimension. And when you come really close you discover extreme detail work with underwater scenery and 3-D effects, and metallic and special FX and much more. I just love to create details and designs within designs.

Welcome to check out Taylor Nelson´s unique San Jose Sharks mask in the mask gallery on the website, on our Facebook page or in our App.

Thank you all for your interest.

Fasth transforms into Mr Freaky Duck Goalie...

Anaheim Ducks

Today we have the pleasure to present my buddy Viktor Fasth´s new Anaheim Ducks mask. With this mask on, he transforms into Mr Freaky Duck Goalie...!

His head turns into a duck head, and it is a real badass duck, and a goalie duck… :-) As you can see he wears an old school Ducks mask, but the mask is totally shot into pieces... The duck even has a bad swelling on the top of his head after all the hits... and a tooth is flying, and much, much more... I love to create details. :-)

I´ve been painting for Viktor for more than a decade, and the new mask is very different from what me and Viktor have done before, but not in one way…. cause this new mask is back to basic, a continuation of the very first mask I painted for Viktor... I remember it very well, it was back in the 90s, I had my shop in my mom and dad´s house in Norra Ljunga, and Viktor was a young kid goalie and he and his father came to me with his mask. Then we transformed the mask into a badass wolverine... :-) Viktor, it´s awesome to paint for you, good luck in the NHL! Right now we can enjoy Viktor´s play here in Sweden in Tingsryd.

Welcome to check out the mask in the gallery, if you dare...

Thank you for your interest.

Neuvirth´s new mask a tribute to his home country and his new home country

Washington Capitalss

It is always such a pleasure to paint for the Washington Capitals goalie Michal Neuvirth. This new artwork is a continuation of his previous Caps masks that I have created for him. The design is a so called storyteller design. I love to make the design into a story. Just as on Michal´s previous masks he wants to celebrate his home country and his new home country.

The left side of the mask is a tribute to his home country Czech Republic. He also wanted to pay tribute to famous goalies, so here you find the Czech goalie legend Holecek. And just as before the Strekov Castle from his hometown and the Hradcany Prague Castle and more.

The right side is a tribute to his new home country and in particular his new hometown Washington DC. The classic goalie he wanted to pay tribute to here is the Caps legend Kolzig, and of course you also find the old school Caps logo, and much more.

The red and white check pattern on the chin is also a tribute to the Czech flag.

I just love to do a lot of details, stuff you can´t see from distance, but when you come closer and closer you will discover more and more, and the artwork transforms in front of your eyes.

Check out Michal Neuvirth´s new Caps mask in the mask gallery and in the App.

Thank your for your interest.

The Moose is more wise and experienced than ever

New Jersey Devils

So what is this... Well, it is now more than a decade since I and Moose did the first Moose-mask, the mask that gave my buddy Johan Hedberg his nickname...and the years go by fast, and for every year the Moose gets wiser and wiser and more experienced and better than ever.

So on this mask the Moose is older than ever... :-) Check him out, now he wears thick glasses, and he has a beard...and he has lost his cane there somewhere... And he has also lost all his teeth except one, and can you see what he is looking for, he has lost his dentures... Can you help him and find them there somewhere on his mask?

Welcome to check out this old school retro Devils mask of Johan Hedberg, with more details than ever. You can find it in the MaskGallery on our site, on our Facebook page and in the DAVEART App.

Thanks for your interest! Very soon we will present the next new NHL mask!

Vokoun´s new mask is a tribute to the city of Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Penguins

Today we have the pleasure to present the new mask of Tomas Vokoun and his new team Pittsburgh Penguins.

I had so fun when I created this design. It is all built on the awesome Penguins logos and the whole design is created as a so called 2 in 1 design. From a distance it is a clear old school design with strong contrasts, and the closer you come the more and more details you will discover and the mask enters a new dimension. And when you come really close you discover the mask is made of steel, with rivets and stuff, as a tribute to the city of Pittsburgh and the steel industry.

It was such a joy to create this design, and I really love to do so much details and special FX and much more. Welcome to check out Tomas Vokoun´s Pittsburgh Penguins mask in the mask gallery on the website, or on our Facebook page or in our App.

Thank you for your interest.

Medusa´s Quest is the name of Lundqvist´s new mask

New York Rangers

I am very happy to present the new mask of the New York Rangers super star and the Vezina goalie 2012, Henrik Lundqvist.

The design is in the same Hank style as me and Henrik have evolved through the years, but something new... Just as usual the Statue of Liberty logo shows up on the mask, but the statue wakes up and the crown grows all over the top like snakes, just like the hair of Medusa turns into snakes in the old Greek mythology. It is a perfect myth for a goalie, the one that dared to look into Medusa´s eyes was turned into a stone...

I´ve been working with Henrik for 15 years, many masks, and this new design is inspired from one of the early Frölunda masks me and Henrik did around 10 years ago. Then we created the feathers of the Frölunda indian as they grow up on the top all over the mask with cool 3D effects... We started to think, how about make a continuation of that idea on this new mask, me and Henrik loved the idea and I started to paint.

As always the design is action packed with details to discover, and of course the mask is electrified with lightning and glitter.

Welcome to check out Henrik Lundqvist´s new Rangers mask in the mask gallery, but beware so you don't turn into a stone...

Thank you all for your interest.

Holmqvist´s new golden mask

Brynäs IF

Today we have the pleasure to present my buddy Johan Holmqvist´s new Brynäs mask. Me and Johan have been working together for many, many years, over a decade... I remember the mask we made back in 1999, we called it the TomatoTiger, a very wild design. The mask was painted as a tiger head, that was hit by a tomato right in the face… With that mask he won the Swedish Championship.

This new mask is in a way more classic style, just as Johan´s gold winning mask from last season. It´s is a clean continuation of the last mask, but now with a black base, with golden leaves giving a cool profile from distance. When you come closer you discover a new world of details, just what I love to do. Among the details are the years of Johan´s two Swedish Championships titles, and a tribute to our friend Stefan Liv.

Welcome to check out the mask in the gallery. Thank you for your interest.

Galbraith turns into a Badass Bunny with his new Frölunda mask

Frölunda Indians

The Swedish Elite league team Frölunda Indians´ new keeper Patrick Galbraith wanted something really, really unique on his new Frölunda mask...

Day in day out, year after year, I just love to come up with new design ideas. Every mask I paint every day is always 100% unique. I´ve been doing this for 16 years now and I just keep on working. :-)

In the hometown of the Frölunda Indians, Gothenburg, there is a green mascot rabbit living at an amusement park, and that rabbit might have a cousin...and that rabbit likes to play hockey, and to be a goalie... Well, here he is! It cannot be more Gothenburg than this... :-)

With this mask on Patrick turns into the Badass Bunny! Just as usual the mask is action packed with details to discover.

Welcome to check it out in the mask gallery, if you dare! Thank you for your interest!

A tribute to my friend Stefan Liv

Stefan Liv - Always in our hearts

This design I created last winter as a tribute to my friend Stefan Liv. The mask is a gift to Stefan´s family and HV71. The mask is now placed in HV´s locker room.

Stefan was such a great part of DAVEART, and he will always be.

It was both so easy to create this mask, and so difficult, in so many ways. Easy because it´s a tribute to my friend Stefan Liv, but obviously difficult at the same time.

Stefan loved when I painted in so called oil paint tech, when I paint with just a brush, check out his Olympic mask on my site, on that mask I only used a brush. So I wanted to do the same on this mask, here I painted the Team Sweden symbol on the top with a brush. Everything else painted in a very soft airbrush style.

Stefan, you will always be in our hearts.

Gerbs got a new look

Rögle BK

Today we present the new mask artwork for my friend Martin Gerber. I´ve been working with Martin for many years, and that means many, many masks... :) I remember them all, especially the Darth Gerbs mask I made a couple of years ago where I transformed the whole mask into Darth Vader.

This mask is kind of a continuation with the black base, but more old school, all built on Rögle´s black and white alternative logo, custom created with so many details to discover all over the mask.

Love to work with you Martin!

You´re welcome to check out Martin Gerber´s Rögle mask´ in the mask gallery. Thank you for your interest!

Gunnarsson transforms into the Giant Vist!

HV71

So what is this..? Well, with this mask on HV71´s keeper Jonas Gunnarsson transforms into the Giant Vist Goalie... The Giant Vist is a character in a famous local saga from the Jönköping area, the city of HV71. There is also a famous Giant Vist statue in Husqvarna (where HV71 was founded), made by the fantastic artist Calle Örnemark... He works in wood and makes such awesome art! Google “Jätten Vist” and check it out!

The giant is made of wood with yellow wood hair…the same on the mask. And the giant has made an old school hockey mask in white painted wood as well... And all over the mask you find so many details, for example you can see the reflection of the statue in the eyes!

So how did Jonas and I come up with this idea?! Well, we are both from the same area of Sweden, and the Giant Vist is super famous around here. And in May I was on a school trip with my daughter´s class, and as we passed the statue the idea struck me! The perfect HV71 tribute mask! It cannot be more local than this. :-)

Welcome to check it out in the mask gallery, on Facebook or in the App!

Thank you for your interest.

Modig´s new Växjö mask says STOP

Växjö Lakers

Today we have the pleasure to present the Swedish Elite team Växjö Lakers´ new goalie Mattias Modig´s new mask. I´ve been working with Mattias for many years, and on all is his pro masks we have put a STOP sign, sounds like a good thing to have for a goalie... :-) And this time we pimped the mask with even more Swedish traffic signs that can come in handy for a goalie, or when you drive on the roads in the forests in Småland... :-)

Check it out in the mask gallery, on our Facebook page or in the App!

Thank you for your interest.
