The Mask Of The Crypt…

Joni Ortio of the Calgary Flames wanted a a really brutal design… A design that breath skulls… and breath Calgary Flames… all created in a new way…

We brainstormed together and dug down into the crypt, and created this violence piece…

We wanted the piece to work in all angles, and both up close as on a distance, as in the crypt…

Just as usual the design is loaded with insane detail work and DAVEART trademark effects :)

Every design I create is always 100% unique, and I love the challenge of creating new designs in different styles every day :)

Skulls and flames...

It was so exciting to create Joni Ortio's new Calgary Flames mask look. I came up with this really scary design, and Joni gave me thumbs up and I started. I created the design as a so called 2 designs in 1. The mask as a whole is transformed into a scary skull, with the teeth on the lower part and badass stitches on the crashed skull on the top... a really dirty look, and on each side I created a bad skull giving action to the design...

A design that works both from a distance and up close with all the details. I love to paint details that make the designs more interesting.
