Watch out! The vikings are getting ready to attack!👊🏻😱

Bernhard was sure what he wanted on his new mask… since he plays in Sweden🇸🇪, he wanted badass vikings on his new masks…🔪 and he wanted the mask loaded with lots of action! I brainstormed and said to Bernhard what about if we transform the mask into a Viking Ship! And it is coming in from the ocean and they are ready to attack…?💦 -Go for it! Said Bernhard.👍🏻

The water from the ocean splashed💦 all over the viking ship and I started to paint🎨. It is so fun to use the masks shape to create the designs. These vikings seems like they already have been in a couple of fights..👊🏻

The closer you come the more details you will discover🔎, and I love to load the designs with details all over the design and transform the masks into Storyteller masks…📚!

Sandström´s new Brynäs artwork

The SHL season is coming closer and closer. I am very happy to present Felix Sandström´s first Brynäs mask.

It was a great honor to create it, Felix´s first SHL mask. The design is created in the old school dimensions, in totally harmony with the awesome and classic Brynäs uniforms.

The whole design is built on the Brynäs stripes, and the closer you come the more details you will discover and the mask enters a new dimension.

In the centre of the mask is the year of 1912, the year Brynäs was founded.

The mask is loaded with all the DAVEART Trademark Super FX… :)

Bernhard had a clear vision about his mask, behind the old school look he wanted the power of a lion :)

I was very excited by the design idea and I setup a plan how to execute the artwork. The closer you come to the mask the more details you will discover, and the design transforms into a second design in front of your eyes.

Johansson´s tribute design to the Brynäs legend Wille Löfqvist

Today we have the honor to present the Brynäs goalie Jonas Johansson's new SHL mask.

Jonas called me and told me he wanted his mask to be a tribute to the legendary Brynäs keeper Wille Löfqvist. I totally loved the idea and I immediately started to make research and brainstorm how to create it. I presented a design plan for Jonas and he immediately gave me green light.

The design is built as a classic old school design on a distance, and the closer you come the more details you will discover and the mask enters a new dimension.

On the side of the mask I painted an artwork with Löfqvist, both a portrait and also a painting when he is sitting in the locker room. I wanted to catch the classic old school hockey feeling for the whole design.

I just love to paint details, of course this mask is loaded with it, and all the DAVEART trademark effects.

Starkbaum´s new Brynäs bucket is here

It was so exciting to paint and create Bernhard Starkbaum´s latest SHL mask for his new team Brynäs.

Every single mask I create is totally unique, love the challenge to come up with new design ideas day in day out, all year around. I have been doing this for 18 years now, and it is more exciting for every year, it just comes more and more ideas :)

Starki´s new #SHL mask is created as an old school mask, totally breathing Brynäs to 100%. But hey it is something going on, it has been badly ripped… by a badass tiger or something…

The design is totally loaded with details and 3D effects to be discovered all over the mask.

Beware, it´s a tiger on the ice in Gävle!

It is always such a pleasure to create the mask art for Johan Holmqvist, we have been working together for more than 15 years, it´s many masks…:)

For this new mask Johan wanted something really wild and spectacular, just like his mask back in 1999 when he won the Swedish Championship with Brynäs. The mask he had back then was the TomatoTiger… o man I remember it was so well, I had so fun when I created that piece, a badass tiger all over the mask hit by a tomato right in the middle of the face… So same theme all over again on this one, but no tomato this time :)

I just love to paint and create in different styles every day, and load it with details to be discovered all over the mask, designs that works both up close and on a distance.

Robin Rahm transforms into the Christmas Straw Goat, and it´s on fire again…!

Med sin nya Brynäs-mask inför den kommande SHL-säsongen blir Robin Rahm förvandlad till julbocken i Gävle… Eller rättare sagt en målvakts-julbock, för han har ju en riktig old school-målvaktsmask på sig…. Och julbocken är riktigt arg, för det är som vanligt, nån har återigen tänt eld på julbocken i Gävle…

Julbocken spelar dessutom riktigt hård hockey… för halva masken är sönderskjuten, ajaj!

With his new Brynäs mask for the coming SHL season Robin Rahm transforms into the Christmas Straw Goat of Gävle…. or more precise a Goalie Christmas Straw Goat, because he is wearing a real old school goalie mask.

In Scandinavia the Christmas Goat made of straw is a sure thing in every home every Christmas. And in Brynäs´ hometown Gävle the huge Christmas Straw Goat in city is a tradition every Christmas… but every year someone somehow set it on fire… And now it happens again!

And this Christmas Straw Goat plays really tough hockey, half of the mask is breaking into pieces… ouch!

Holmqvist´s new golden mask

Today we have the pleasure to present my buddy Johan Holmqvist´s new Brynäs mask. Me and Johan have been working together for many, many years, over a decade... I remember the mask we made back in 1999, we called it the TomatoTiger, a very wild design. The mask was painted as a tiger head, that was hit by a tomato right in the face… With that mask he won the Swedish Championship.

This new mask is in a way more classic style, just as Johan´s gold winning mask from last season. It´s is a clean continuation of the last mask, but now with a black base, with golden leaves giving a cool profile from distance. When you come closer you discover a new world of details, just what I love to do. Among the details are the years of Johan´s two Swedish Championships titles, and a tribute to our friend Stefan Liv.

Robin Rahm´s new Brynäs mask

It´s such a joy to always come up with and create new design ideas, every day, all year around. Every mask is totally unique, always new stuff.

I have been working with Robin Rahm and created his masks since he was a kid and it is always very exciting, he is so interested in his masks. Love to work with you Robin!

Me and Robin made a lot of thinking how to create this design, a mask so important in many meanings. We wanted to do something new and outside the box, but although retro looking. A design that breathes Brynäs to 100%, and is packed with details to discover, just what I love creating.

Svedberg´s gold winning mask

Today we have the pleasure to present the mask Niklas Svedberg used when his team Brynäs won the Swedish Championship this spring.

I had so fun creating this design, Niklas is just as me a very big fan of the Godfather movies.

Can you find the tiger, yes it is there... :-) It is a tribute to the fantastic fans of Brynäs.

The Godfather on Svedberg's Brynäs mask

After Niklas Svedberg had signed with the Swedish elite league team Brynäs, we talked about how to create the mask design for his new team. Niklas wanted a classic and clear Brynäs design with the club's beautiful colors and the characteristic yellow-red lines, spiced up with a special dude, the Godfather. I painted him on one of the sides with old school oil paint tech, and on the chin the number is also strongly inspired by the same dude...
